Hillsborough, N.C. — Mohammed Taheri-azar, the man accused of trying to run over students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill two years ago, pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to nine counts of attempted first-degree murder. The judge indicated he would consolidate the plea into two counts of attempted first-degree murder, with the sentences served consecutively. Taheri-azar could serve a minimum of 20 years and 10 months to a maximum of 33 years. |

Nicholas Bissett was born in Manchester England and moved to the United States in 1986 and has lived throughout the world. He joined WNVN local news in March of 2008 as the News Director/Anchor. Nicholas moved to the Roanoke Valley after completing an internship at PCC TV in Clearwater Florida. Where he trained as a General Assignment Reporter and worked closely with the board of commissioners. |

Mark hails from Klamath Falls Oregon. He graduated from the National School of Broadcasting in Philadalphia Pennsylvania in 1988 and followed with an internship at Philadelphia's all sports radio station WIP. Mark's first job in the electronic media was hosting mid days at WKCW in Northern Virginia, just south of Washington DC. |

Marie Torres has lived in Northampton County, North Carolina for the majority of her life and attended Gaston Middle School and Northampton County High School-West. In 2001 Marie, interned at WNVN under former anchor, Les Atkins, where she was inspired to pursue a career in news broadcasting. In 2007 Marie received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Media Studies, concentration in Electronic News and Documentary from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. |

Deborah H. Robinson joined the news team of WNVN-TV in late 1999. She previously served as a voice for the Roanoke Valley and Southside, Va. via Public Radio. Her decision to join the news team enabled her a more personal relationship to the community she so eloguently serves. Deborah serves as a voice for First Media Radio and is the host of WNVN's "Closer Look", a community service broadcast.
